Entry-level Acoustic-electric Guitar

Looking to add an acoustic-electric guitar to your collection? The D'Angelico Premier Lexington may just be the guitar you're after! Made with superb tonewoods and a smooth playing neck, this guitar sounds just as good as it looks. The mahogany body produces a sweet, balanced tone with noticeable warmth. The traditional dreadnought style is well-suited to flatpicking, and unleashes a massive, rounded tone under hard strumming. The satin-finished neck is super comfortable and won't stick to your hands during long practice sessions. Once you plug it in, the onboard D'Angelico preamp reproduces an acoustic tone that's music to your ears. What more can we say? If you're looking for your new favorite acoustic-electric guitar, you've found it in the D'Angelico Premier Lexington.

All-mahogany construction creates a warm sound

Tone is the be-all-end-all when it comes to acoustic guitars, and D'Angelico does all that they can to create the best-sounding acoustics. To achieve their goal, D'Angelico uses the best tonewoods available. The Premier Lexington's body is made entirely from laminated mahogany to facilitate a warm, rounded tone with a nice midrange boost. From the moment you strum your first chord, you'll fall in love with the Premier Lexington's acoustic character.

Onboard preamp produces great plugged-in tone

Gigging musicians around Sweetwater know how much of a pain it is to mic up an acoustic onstage. Instead, they prefer to plug into an acoustic amp or directly into the board when gigging. The Premier Lexington is loaded with an onboard D'Angelico MG-30 preamp. It accurately reproduces a clear tone that captures your acoustic character.

The D’Angelico legacy

After mastering his craft during an 18-year apprenticeship, luthier John D’Angelico opened his own shop in Manhattan’s Little Italy in 1932. Catering to New York’s many jazz musicians over the ensuing three decades, D’Angelico and a single apprentice became New York’s foremost stringed instrument builders, creating over one thousand treasured archtop guitars until John’s death in 1964. After his passing, the D’Angelico’s legacy lived on only through his rare, legendary instruments. After decades, the D’Angelico brand has resurfaced, bringing back the playability and attention to detail of the company’s New York roots. Today, Sweetwater is delighted to offer this fine line of distinguished instruments. D’Angelico uses state-of-the-art manufacturing processes and the finest available materials to create playable works of art for today’s guitarist. From a modest shop in Little Italy to the world stage, D’Angelico’s dedication to quality craftsmanship ensures that this brand won’t be going dormant again any time soon.

Update

I've had this guitar going two years now, so thought I'd add an update. Very surprising for an all laminated guitar! Neck is as straight as it was when it came from SW! Holding tone like a champ. The most surprising thing is the tone has really opened up with being played for an all laminated guitar! D'Angelico and one other guitar maker that I've had experience (Luna) with, have hit it out of the ballpark making laminated guitars.
I highly recommend buy either!

Fantastic Acoustic!

My wife has been wanting to learn to play and asked for an acoustic guitar for Christmas. After figuring out what she wanted from a guitar I settled on this model. When it arrived I was VERY pleased. Has a lovely, warm sound, a neck that is very comfortable for someone with smaller hands (feels like a nice electric neck), looks amazing, and has a very good preamp/tuner built in. This is a lot of guitar for the money and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.
Music background: Player and teacher for over 35+ years

D'Angelico Lexington LS

I haven't bought a laminated top acoustic since 2009, I always wanted a D'Angelico so I bit the bullet on this one. It's an excellent guitar for an all laminate! Craftsmanship, tone, action ( very playable out of the box), and fret work are great!
Oil the fret board. The preamp is excellent quality, built-in tuner works great. It has a very surprising tone for a laminated top, however, it really shines when plugged into an amp ( playing it through a Fender Champion 20)!
From beginner to pro it's a great guitar. Would I recommend buying it, Yes. Of course as with all guitars set the action to your preferences.
Once again excellent buy! Next buy will be a D'Angelico Bowery Natural Aged all mahogany!
This was my second buy fr Sweetwater and won't be my last! The sales representatives are great people and answered all my never ending questions!

D'Angelico Premier Lexington LS

This guitar came set up very nice. It was playable right out of the box with a great action and no sharp fret ends. It has decent electronics with a very nice built in tuner that is accurate. It has adequate tonal qualities. Of course, the sound is not up there with my more expensive guitars but at its price range it is still good. That being said, this is a great guitar for a beginner or intermediate player or to add to your collection as I did. This guitar in my opinion is a keeper.
