The combination of Seymour Duncan pickups in the ESP LTD Viper-1000 gives you the sonic versatility to switch between heavy riffing and expressive solo lines in a flash. The Sentient humbucker in the neck position is like a traditional PAF humbucker with added harmonic complexity, giving it a voice somewhere between Seymour Duncan's '59 and Jazz pickup models. The Pegasus pickup at the bridge features custom-wound coils and Alnico V magnets that deliver impressive clarity and articulation, for excellent string-to-string separation. Guitarists at Sweetwater agree, this pickup combination is primed for modern rock and metal.

TonePros bridge and LTD locking tuners

Players who understand the importance of tuning, action, and intonation will delight in the Viper-1000's TOM-style TonePros bridge/tailpiece and locking LTD tuners. The TonePros is a common aftermarket upgrade for players looking to enhance their instrument. Its six adjustable saddles provide precise intonation and enhanced sustain for chords and leads. Better than a Mexican fender strat with humbuckers or a Chinese epiphone sg prophecy

This guitar is a pro level guitar and plays better than any super strat guitar or epiphone sg I've ever stays in tune and manufacturer defects except for a crooked tuner machine head that was advertised as why i got on demo price. Plus this beauty is Indonesian made and not Mexican or Chinese made crap like fender or upper end epiphone. I might be back to pickup the Iommi sg when get back in stock but for right now I am happy with this great esp ltd viper sg copy. The amp i play through is a laney cub 8 which you either have to crank up for distortion or in my case i use a fuzz pedal for fuzz tones its an okay amp but i rather play through a Marshall class 5 a laney eith built in distortion an orange ad5 or a Mesa boogie.

Solid as hell

This guitar plays like a machine! The Duncan's sound really good even through a old crappy amp I had in the closet! Now the looks are beautiful! It changes color as you love it, it's really beautiful! The locking tuners keep it in tune really well. It isn't that heavy so it doesn't kill your back when you stand. It is comfortable to sit and stand with and the neck feels really good and smooth. That Photo is mid bend in a pinch harmonic lol. Sweetwater's customer service is perfect as always

Absolutely Stunning! But a fatal flaw.

This is such a gorgeous SG style guitar. The quilted maple top is off the charts! The Sentient and Pegasus pups handle loads of gain with lots of clarity. I was surprised at how much gain this thing can handle --even to 11. I see why drop-tuners love them. I was also surprised how nice the pups sound with clean tones, and how much spank you get with the coil split. Perfect pup combo! Make it rip for Metal or clean up for Jazz. Viper came out of the box with dead on intonation.

But there is one fatal flaw that keeps it from getting the 5 stars it should get --it has horrendous neck-dive. A felt-backed leather strap won't be enough to counter it. I knew that before buying so I opted for a lighter version so I could add some stick-on automotive wheel weights in the pot cavity without having it weigh like a tank.

If you can get passed the neck-dive and fix then it's an awesome guitar.

Fantastic guitar

I was contemplating on another Gibson SG, then I saw this ESP LTD Viper 1000 QM in Tiger Eye Sunburst!
I immediately began researching reviews on YouTube, pros and cons. The only negative thing I found was potential neck dive, which directed my search for neck dive cures. Suede lined guitar strap. The promotion stated Free ESP Gig Bag with purchase. Ok that's nice but I prefer a hard case so I ordered my Guitar to arrive in the ESP Viper fitted hard case. It arrived on time and it's perfect. It was playable right out of the case but I did make minor adjustments to suit my preferences. The Maple Quilt top is mind blowing! The locking tuners have been easy to set, most likely the cause for neck dive. Turns out I don't have a problem with neck dive. It's nice to play and sounds great. I have nothing negative to report on this guitar and I'm 100% pleased with Sweetwater's staff.
I'm thinking about getting the same guitar again in Matte Black. Just today I received an email from ESP my free soft case will arrive in a couple of days.

ESP LTD Viper-1000 QM-Tiger Eye Burst

Very very solid guitar.Has everything you need.Solid mahogany body,maple cap,dark ebony fingerboard,locking tuners that hold tune very well and quality Seymour Duncan pickups mounted directly to the body.Push pull single coil tone sounds really good,gets you a brighter cleaner tone and some honk like a Stratocaster.My first 24 fret guitar so theirs a small difference.A dark bone nut would of been nice.Fret board is a joy to play.Quilt maple Tiger burst on top is gorgeous,much better in person too see.Back and neck is solid red mahogany which is almost as gorgeous.I use custom lights 9-46.This beauty will sound good in any of your amps.Make sure you tweak guitar and amp settings accordingly before you judge.Have fun,I am!
