High-powered T-style Axe

The PT Pro is an eye-catching creation from Schecter. Showcasing a stylish quilted maple veneer top, blacked-out hardware, and binding, this guitar has all of the creature comforts a player can ask for. It's equipped with an alder body, maple neck, and a pair of Schecter's vintage-inspired Z-Plus humbucking pickups. Each pickup can be split into a single-coil pickup to maximize tonal versatility. And if you regularly play on dark stages, you'll love the glow-in-the-dark side dot markers. Whether you're gigging or kicking back at home, the PT Pro will quickly become one of your favorite axes.

Old-school styling with modern playability

At first glance, this axe may seem like a traditional T-style guitar. But the PT Pro is anything but traditional. It has tons of upgrades that will help you take your playing to a new level. First, the PT body has an eye-catching quilted maple top that your audience will love. It has upgraded Schecter USA pickups, extra switching options, and stainless steel saddles to enhance your sustain. The Thin C neck profile keeps just the right amount of wood in your hands without getting in the way of your playing. Meanwhile, a 14" fretboard radius and 22 extra-jumbo frets work together so your bends won't choke out during your big solo.

Re-creating the original Schecter magic

The PT Pro is loaded with a set of Schecter USA Z-Plus humbucking pickups. Arguably the most impressive upgrade of the bunch, these pickups perfectly re-create the powerful tone of the earliest Schecter creations. They're punchy, with medium output and a well-defined attack. As if the factory tone isn't good enough already, both pickups feature 12 fully-adjustable high-carbon pole pieces. That allows you to tweak all 24 pole pieces to achieve your perfect tone. Trust us, once you plug in for the first time, you'll have a hard time putting it down.

Switching options that today's players demand

The Schecter PT Pro has tons of upgrades that guitar players at Sweetwater really love. It has simple, traditional controls consisting of a master volume, master tone, and 3-way pickup selector switch. Right away you have neck, middle, and bridge positions to choose from. If a song in your set requires the traditional twang of a single-coil, you won't have to bother with changing guitars! All you need to do is pull the coil-splitting volume and tone knobs to play through a true single-coil. You can split each pickup individually to create your perfect tone.

Schecter PT Pro Solidbody Electric Guitar Features:

  • Schecter USA Z-Plus humbuckers deliver vintage Schecter tone
  • Coil splitting increases your tonal options
  • Glow-in-the-dark side markers provide a handy reference point on the darkest of stages
  • Alder body adds extra resonance
  • Thin-C neck carve plays quickly with minimal effort
  • Quilted maple adds extra visual appeal
  • Stainless steel saddles improve sustain

Very Impressed

I have played in many different bands and many different settings. I've played some of the most high end custom shop guitars on the planet. Everything from The Slash Gibson Les Paul, to the Satriani Ibanez, to some high end Fenders.

I can say without a doubt Schecter makes phenomenal instruments, setup right out of the box perfectly, no adjustments needed. I know a lot of people are wondering about the pickups and how this guitar compares to some other guitars out there… the best way I can describe this guitar is that it feels and plays like a Fender Telecaster but sounds like a Les Paul almost. BUT it is more versatile then a Les Paul because it has the push pull pots which add a different yet subtle dynamic to it.

I'm very happy with my purchase and it's definitely one of those guitars that inspires you to play. I'm very happy with Sweetwater Sound and I hope Schecter continues to make great playing instruments!
Music background: Rock, funk, fusion

What a guitar! The best tele ever...

Bought this guitar after some bad experience with the Fender telecaster player pro series.
Should have got it in the first place. I have it now for almost a month, and here are my thoughts on it:
This is truly an amazing instrument!
The neck is the most comfortable one I have ever touched. I can play it for hours and won't feel the passage of time. My hand or fingers don't tire and my playing is very relaxed. I can reach every fret very easily and quickly.
Though slightly heavy, it is very comfortable and solid.
Sound is amazing for both pickups and the single coil switch enables me the get a very wide verity of sounds.
Twangs like a tele, and IMHO, sounds better (but it is a matter of taste).
One last and very important thing, its sustain is brilliant!!! (and in the words of Nigel from Spinal tap - "you can go and have a bite and it would still be going on").
Highly recommended - especially for it's current price

Only guitar I need

Feels so good in hands. Not too heavy. Pickups are super versatile. Looks better in person than online. Able to get classic tones, metal tones, even sounds great clean with the coil split. Sweet guitar

Fun!

Fun guitar to play! Looks great and plays great! I was looking for a tele type guitar and I am glad I chose this one. My advice is that if you are looking for a tele style, check this one out. Sounds great, and the thin neck is a joy to play. I have no gripes at all.

Incredible guitar for the price!

I started seeing ads for this guitar around the beginning of 2020. An axe with a quilted maple top, locking tuners, front and rear bindings, and a roasted maple neck and fret board at $... really intrigued me. But due to Covid, the release date kept getting pushed back and finally, around the first of March, I had a little extra cash and decided to order a custom Tele style guitar from Kiesel. The Kiesel was finished by the end of June and it quickly became the favorite of my 12 electric axes. Cannot say enough about the quality and craftsmanship of the Kiesel and I had basically put the PT Pro out of my mind. But then a couple of weeks ago, while browsing Sweetwater's website I came across a demo of this guitar at a very reasonable price for a very minor blemish. I called my sales engineer, Jason Theile, and after talking with him he gave me even more of a discount on the demo and a Schecter hard shell case. I received this guitar 2 weeks ago and have barely put it down. The quilted top is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen, the roasted neck plays fast and smooth, sustain for days, and the overall quality of the build is just simply fantastic. I had every intention of replacing the stock pups with some EMGs, as I do with most of my electrics, but, honestly, the stock pups sound incredible and I'm not going to mess with them. The only complaints I have with this guitar is the cheap plastic pickup ring around the neck pickup and the stainless steel saddles on an otherwise all black hardware guitar. I have already ordered a black metal pickup ring and will be ordering black Graphtech "string saver" saddles for my axe. Other than that, this guitar has become my 2nd favorite axe and I could not recommend it enough. Incredible quality for a very reasonable price.
