Welcome to GuitarAdvise.com! My name is Dan Hoang, and I’m the founder of this site. I’m thrilled that you’re here, and I’m excited to share my love and knowledge of guitars and gear with you.
Let me start by telling you a little bit about myself. I’m a complete nerd when it comes to guitars and gear. I fell in love with learning all about them to the point where I’m more interested in gear than actually playing the guitar (though don’t get me wrong, I still love playing!). I’ve spent countless hours researching, trying out, and reviewing guitars, amps, pedals, and more.
My passion for guitars started when I was a teenager, and I got my first guitar as a gift from my parents. From there, I dove headfirst into the world of music, learning everything I could about playing guitar and music theory. But it wasn’t until I started experimenting with different gear that I truly found my niche.
I also fell in love with the way guitars look, so I started to build my own little collection. To me, guitars are like pieces of art or like sports cars. Any guitar will get the job done, but it’s all about the aesthetic and the experience.
I had over 30 guitars at one point, so I decided to start my own little eBay and Reverb shop where I would buy and sell these guitars. To me, it wasn’t a way to make money, but rather a way to try out hundreds of different guitars without breaking the bank because I could just sell them to recoup the costs and use that money to get something else.
My favorite brands include PRS, Mayones, Music Man, and ESP. I’m a primary to metal-ish player, so I really prefer the more modern, shred guitars since they’re so comfortable to play.
In addition to running GuitarAdvise.com, I also started a YouTube channel where I post covers of 80s rock, anime, and video game songs. I love taking classic songs and putting my own spin on them, and sharing them with others who appreciate good music.
I created GuitarAdvise.com to share my passion for gear and music with others who are just as passionate as I am. On this site, you’ll find honest and in-depth reviews of guitars, amps, pedals, and other gear related to guitars. My goal is to help you make informed decisions when it comes to buying gear, so you can find the perfect setup for your playing style and preferences.
But GuitarAdvise.com isn’t just about gear reviews. I also share tips and tricks for playing guitar, as well as news and updates from the world of music. I believe that music is a universal language that brings people together, and I’m excited to be a part of that community.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me and GuitarAdvise.com. I hope you find this site helpful and informative, and that it helps you on your own musical journey. If you have any questions or suggestions, please feel free to reach out to me. Let’s rock on!
